Replacing the Controller on your BATCADDY X3,X4 and X8

Replacing the Controller on your BATCADDY X3,X4 and X8

Finding the Controller

The controller is located in a compartment below the battery. Flip over the cart, you will notice a couple of screws holding a panel in place. Once these are removed you can slide away the panel exposing the carts controller. The controller will be a black or silver box with 3 or 4 cables, depending on the model.

Removing the Controller

Before removing the controller be sure the battery is unplugged. There will be shrink wrap surrounding some of the plugs, this can be snipped away with pair of scissors. For remote controlled BATCADDY's there will be two cables for the motors, the longer cable goes to the left motor, take note of which cable is longer before removing. You will want to remove the power cable, from the battery tray or motor housing, then unplug each controller connection.

Installing the new Controller

Plug in each controller connection and attach the battery cable to the tray or motor housing. If this is a remote-controlled BATCADDY, you will need to sync your remote control to the new controller using the steps below.

Step #1 - Power your caddy off for at least five (5) seconds.
Step #2 - Hold down the stop button on the remote. Make sure the remote is powered on and the red light comes on.
Step #3 - Continue to hold down the stop button and power up cart.
Step #4 - Continue to hold down the stop button until the LED light on the handle blinks.
Step #5 - Cart is now in "sync".
Test each function to assure all are functioning. You are ready to go!

If the cart goes in reverse after installing the new controller, you will want to swap the motor cables (with the battery unplugged), then re-sync the remote control.
